Rep. Keller, SUN Area Dairy Princess Ashley Wetzel
MIFFLINBURG – Rep. Fred Keller (R-Union/Snyder) and SUN Area Dairy Princess Ashley Wetzel invite residents of Union and Snyder counties to join them at Keller’s district office in Mifflinburg for a “Cheese Break” in celebration of National Cheese Month.

The Cheese Break will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, at the 85th District Office within the Mifflinburg Government Center, located at 343 Chestnut St.

“Agriculture is the No. 1 industry in Pennsylvania, with dairy production making up the largest segment of that industry,” Wetzel said. “The Cheese Break is an excellent opportunity for people to recognize the importance of agriculture.”

The Cheese Break will feature a variety of local cheeses as well as other favorites made from cheese and milk. Recipes booklets will also be available for the foods served as well as for other family recipes.

“With more than 535,000 cows, Pennsylvania is the fifth largest milk producing state in the nation, producing more than 10.6 billion gallons of milk annually,” Keller said. “This is a tremendous opportunity to showcase the economic impact of the dairy industry and for the community to learn how their food is produced. I encourage residents to drop by at their convenience, even if individuals can only stay for a couple of minutes.”

Those wishing to attend should RSVP by Friday, Oct. 25. They can do so online at or by calling Keller’s office at (570) 966-0052 or (570) 837-0052.
