Keller Announces Water Grant for Spring Township Municipal Authority
HARRISBURG – Rep. Fred Keller (Snyder/Union) today announced a $275,000 grant has been awarded to Spring Township Municipal Authority in Snyder County, for a water line replacement project.

“Reliable infrastructure systems are a cornerstone for a strong economy and a healthy community,” Keller said. “This is an important investment in our region.”

The authority will use the funds to help replace a 60-year-old, undersized asbestos water line along Snyder Avenue. The project includes the installation of 5,620 linear feet of 8-inch PVC pipe, five fire hydrants and 30 service connections.

The project will address the health concerns of asbestos, the safety concerns of insufficient fire flows and will enhance the reliability of the system.

The grants were awarded through the Commonwealth Financing Authority and its Small Water and Sewer Grants program.
